TF Sketch how-to by Ramrider

A couple of weeks ago over at Seibertron, someone asked for some tips on how to go about drawing Transformers. So I set about drawing a quick pic of Prime, taking pictures as I went (it takes ages to scan at the moment). This was pretty much the result.

I did Prime because the poster particularly wanted to draw him, but the 'system' (such as it is) works well for me for whatever TFs I'm drawing.

I'm almost always start with the head - because it is the expression of the face that determines me how to draw the position of the body. (I mean how I succeeded with the face first....) ^^;

When I want a scene, with more figures, there is always the problem of proportions you mentioned and angles too, and I work hard figuring out a not so bad solution drawing sketches you suggested. I use my toys modelling the position I want to make (I've got a rather flexible small Prime, he's my model). But for me, the faces are what count.
Of course, I'm not an artist and all my works landed in my secret file, as scrappy as they are. If I ever would post one you'll see how amateur am I.
